Rīgas satiksme invites Ukrainian citizens to apply for a discount for free travel on public transport
Until 30 June 2023, Ukrainian residents who have registered with the Riga Support Centre for Ukrainian Residents will be able to benefit from a 100% discount on public transport in Riga. Ukrainian residents can get a 100% discount for the next period at ticket vending machines located at the transport stops or in shopping centres. Rīgas satiksme therefore invites Ukrainian residents to go to the ticket vending machines and register the 100% discount into their existing e-tickets. It is not necessary to create a new e-ticket to get the discount. The discount will also be available at the Riga Support Centre for Ukrainian Residents at Amatu iela 4.
At the Riga Support Centre for Ukrainian Residents at Amatu iela 4, please go to Room 419, where Rīgas satiksme personnel will process the discount. It is necessary to bring your ID, proof of your personal identity number and your personalised e-ticket or Riga resident’s card if you have already been issued one. If the person does not have an e-ticket, it will be issued during the visit.
Discounts on Riga public transport – tram, trolleybus and bus – are available to Ukrainian residents who have registered with the Riga Support Centre and live in Riga.
Children from Ukraine who have already registered and received their Pupil’s e-card do not have to go anywhere and can continue to use public transport at a 100% discount.
Rīgas satiksme reminds that anyone who is entitled to a discount must connect the issued e-talon to the electronic card reader and register the travel when boarding a bus, trolleybus or tram. A green signal on the reader confirms that the registration has been successful. The e-ticket must be presented to the ticket control officer at the time of ticket control.
